Arunachal Pradesh Govt., Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Religare Enterprises sign MoU for healthcare services development

On 11 of August, The Government of Arunachal Pradesh (GoAP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Itanagar, with Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and Religare Group’s CSR arm, ReligareCare Foundation (RCF), to improve the state’s healthcare services and address the skills gap in the healthcare sector. The MoU was signed in the presence of the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Pema Khandu, and other dignitaries.

The MoU will provide technical assistance to GoAP to strengthen the hill state’s tertiary healthcare systems and infrastructure. The government and advisory team have chosen their initial project for collaboration, establishing a Centre of Excellence for Renal Sciences at the Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS).

The Arunachal Pradesh government has been working towards improving healthcare services and addressing the skills gap in the state, with a significant reduction from 34% to 6% in the last five years. Arunachal Pradesh’s government focuses on healthcare, education, and sports development, reducing the skills gap and employing over 8,000 professionals in 500 health centers across the state.Shri Alo Libang, Minister of Health, Government of Arunachal Pradesh said, “The Healthcare professionals in the state will receive appropriate training to enhance their skills and bring them in line with their counterparts in leading states with superior healthcare facilities.”
