Star Health & Allied Insurance settles 14 crore claims in Guwahati

India’s Star Health and Allied Insurance has paid over Rs.14 crore in claims settlement in Guwahati over the past 15 months, with over Rs 13 crore paid to network hospitals and around Rs.1 crore to non-network hospitals in the region. Between April 2022 and June 2023, Star Health settled over Rs.12 crore in cashless claim settlement and over Rs.2 crore in reimbursement claim settlements in Guwahati. The company settled all cashless claims within 2 hours, with initial authorization for cashless treatment given within 2 hours.

Reimbursement claims were made within 7 days of claim submission. Most claims in Guwahati were for surgical treatments, with over Rs.8 crore in claims pay-out. Over Rs.6 crore was paid towards claims made by women, while Rs.8 crore was paid towards claims made by men.

Sharing his insights, Mr. Sanath Kumar K, Chief Claims Officer, Star Health and Allied Insurance Co. Ltd. said, “We are happy to say that at Guwahati, Star Health has been quick to settle claims and approve cashless treatments.”
