The two-day G20 Labor Summit in Patna concluded on Friday

The G20 Labor Summit in Patna concluded on June 23, 2023, with deliberations on migrant labor, universal social security, women, and work’s future. The summit attracted 28 countries’ representatives, trade union leaders, experts, academics, and government officials. A resolution was also adopted during the Summit summarizing the consensus on the main issues. Later a joint statement was also issued by the Troika countries.

Ahead of the last day of the meeting, G20 delegates visited the Takht Sri Harmandir Sahib Gurdwara in Patna Sahib. On the last day of the meeting, Hiranmoy Pandya, Labor 20 group chairman, handed over leadership to Ruth Coelho Monteiro, Brazil’s next chairperson, assuming the G20 presidency. On the sidelines of the meeting, the guests from India and abroad who came to Bihar were shown a glimpse of the history and future of the State through cultural programs.

 A visit to the ancient Nalanda University is also being organized for the delegates. While addressing the meeting, Labor expert Ravi Raman said,“The global scenario of work migration has changed due to the introduction of artificial intelligence and information and communication technology. The G20 countries should accept these important changes in the region.”
