Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and the Department of Electronics, IT, BT, and Science and Technology, Government of Karnataka, have announced the commencement of registrations for the 24th edition of the TCS Rural IT Quiz program, which is part of the Bengaluru Tech Summit 2023. This quiz is open to students in Class 8 to 12 from smaller towns and districts across India.
The quiz format will include online tests, as well as virtual and physical quiz shows. It will focus on various aspects of technology, including the technology environment, business, people, and emerging trends. Additionally, the quiz will cover the impact of IT in sectors such as banking, education, entertainment, multimedia, music, movies, internet, advertising, sports, gaming, social networking, and mobile technology.The competition will feature eight Regional Finals across India, with the winners of each Regional Final earning invitations to the National Finals in Bengaluru in November. Regional winners and runners-up will receive gift vouchers of Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000, respectively, while the National winner and runner-up will be awarded TCS education scholarships of Rs 100,000 and Rs 50,000, respectively. All Regional and National finalists will also receive prizes.
Interested students can register for the quiz program on the official website before the deadline of September 21. TCS has been organizing the Rural IT Quiz since the year 2000, in partnership with the Government of Karnataka. The initiative aims to increase IT awareness among students in smaller towns and districts across India, keeping them updated on the latest developments in the world of technology. The program has reached over 20 million students to date and is recognized by the Limca Book of Records as the first IT Quiz designed for rural students in India.
