A digital platform is launched by the Agri Department to promote farming

The Central Command Centre, Directorate of Agriculture, Kohima, hosted a ceremony to formally inaugurate the Department of Agriculture, Nagaland’s new digital infrastructure. Advisor of Agriculture Mhathung Yanthan, who was a special guest, commended the department’s endeavours to establish a comprehensive digital platform. High-ranking authorities, including Agriculture Production Commissioner Wezope Kenye, were present at the launch event. Yanthan emphasized how the new system makes use of cutting-edge technology like GIS, remote sensing, mobile apps, and centralized servers.

He claimed that the program will boost service delivery, raise farmer earnings, and improve farming methods. He urged field officers to deploy digital technologies for real-time data collecting, monitoring, and prompt advising to help farmers, and he advocated for more emphasis on digital capacity building at the grassroots level. According to the agency, the digital platform would help the farming community throughout the state by facilitating improved planning, effective scheme execution, and efficient use of resources.
