ACC, the cement and building material arm of the Adani Portfolio, is driving holistic rural development in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district through impactful interventions in clean water, agriculture, renewable energy, and healthcare. In a major green initiative, ACC has installed solar-powered drinking water systems in four villages—Chhatatand, Simatand, Bawari Tola, and Kushberia—benefiting over 100 families. These systems are improving public health and reducing the burden on women and children who earlier had to travel long distances for safe drinking water.
Empowering local farmers, ACC has introduced solar irrigation systems across 15 acres in Chhatatand and Samlapur villages, enabling year-round cultivation and helping smallholders save up to ₹30,000 per season. The initiative promotes sustainable agriculture by cutting diesel use and carbon emissions.
A standout success story is Smt. Chayna Devi of Chhatatand, who, with ACC’s support, transitioned to diversified farming and now earns over ₹1 lakh annually—serving as an inspiration to other women in the community. In healthcare, ACC, in partnership with the Adani Foundation, distributed 281 nutrition kits to TB patients in Baliapur, supporting the National TB Elimination Program. ACC’s integrated approach underscores its long-term commitment to inclusive and sustainable community development.
