After defeating Pakistan by 6 runs, India’s horse race to the World Cup

India could not bat a full 20 overs against Pakistan on the New York pitch. They were all out for 119 runs in 19 overs. After that, Rohit Sharma defeated Pakistan by six runs. Rohit revealed the mantra he gave to the team’s bowlers at the break of the inning. At the end of the match, Rohit said that he knew that Pakistan would also have problems scoring runs on this pitch. That is what he explained to the bowlers. Rohit said, “We thought we could score more runs. 119 runs is not much. But we were confident. I told the bowlers that if we have trouble batting, they will too. The pitch is the same. I will not let them run easily. I will keep it under pressure. The bowlers bowled with a plan from start to finish.”

Experts have praised Rohit’s leadership. According to them, even if the runs are fewer, the way Rohit has used the bowlers and arranged the fielding is, in one word, extraordinary. For example, they talked about bringing back Jasprit Bumrah and picking up Mohammad Rizwan’s wicket. As soon as Rizwan got out, the game swung towards India.

Bumrah has caught the attention of Indian bowlers. He took 3 wickets and 14 runs in 4 overs. Panchmukh Rohit praises the pace of the team. He said, “Bumrah is bowling better day by day. I will not say much about him. We want him to bowl the way he is bowling in the whole World Cup. He is a great bowler.”

There were no fewer Indian fans at the Nassau County Grounds in New York. Rohit’s every four-six, and Bumrah’s every wicket, they screamed. Rohit thanked the fans. He said, “Supporters never let us down. Wherever we play in the world, the arena is packed. The way I got support in this match is amazing. The fact that they are able to return home with a smile on their faces is real.”
