Korean Cultural Centre India (KCCI) and LG Electronics are organizing All India KPOP Contest 2023 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Korea and India. The event will be held throughout pan India over a period of about six months with four rounds; online, regional, semi-finale, and grand finale.
The online qualifiers round were held from April 26th to May 13th, with 11,071 teams participating from Pan India. The regional round will be held in 11 cities. The All-India K-Pop Contest has been held annually since 2011, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was held online in 2021 and 2022. This year, it will be held as an offline large-scale festival event.
Kolkata opened the regional round contest at the mini Auditorium, Science City. H.E. Chang Jae-Bok, the Ambassador of Korea, graced the regional round contest with 20 participants from the dance and vocal categories. Regional rounds will be held in 10 cities, with 10 winners (5 vocal, 5 dance) of the semi-finals receiving singing and dance training, and the final winner receiving a visit to Korea. Delhi will host both rounds.
