Amazon India inks pact with 5 states to empower Persons with Disabilities

Amazon India entered into an agreement with the five states namely Haryana, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to uplift the status of physically challenged/disabled persons in the society.

The MoU signed between Amazon and other five states aims to provide special training and guidance to employable Persons with Disabilities (PwD), which will help them to enter the working force of the country. The agreement has set a target of skilling the people by 2026.  

Different types of job such as packing, stowing, picking, and sorting etc. will be offered by the Amazon’s different working networks like fulfillment centres, delivery stations and sortation centres. PwDs will be provided required support with on-the-job training, intervention and an atmosphere of acceptance and inclusion.
