Ashoka University, India’s leading interdisciplinary institution in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities, has opened applications for its 2026 undergraduate intake. The university has announced 500 merit and need-based scholarships, including 200 newly introduced merit awards, underscoring its commitment to financial inclusivity and academic excellence. Special Merit Scholarships will provide 100% tuition fee waivers to 50 exceptional achievers in JEE Mains, IISER Aptitude Test, CMI, and Indian National Olympiads, while Achievers’ Merit Scholarships will recognize 150 students with high academic performance and excellence in the Ashoka admissions process.
Additionally, need-based scholarships will ensure up to full tuition fee support for students requiring financial assistance. Applications will be accepted across four rounds, starting October 13, 2025, with assessments conducted at 37 centres nationwide for Indian residents. The university has also put in place special provisions for applicants with disabilities to ensure accessible and equitable admissions.
In Kolkata, the city’s education sector has witnessed growing interest in Ashoka University’s programmes. Local consultants report increasing inquiries from students and parents about scholarship opportunities and admissions procedures. With Kolkata being a key academic hub in Eastern India, the city is expected to contribute a substantial portion of the applicant pool this year, reflecting the region’s demand for quality interdisciplinary education. With these initiatives, Ashoka University continues to strengthen its position as a premier destination for high-achieving students across India.
