Assam Industry Minister Bimal Borah attends rubber plantation review meeting with Piyush Goyal

Assam Minister for Industry, Commerce, and Public Enterprise, Bimal Borah, attended a pivotal review meeting on rubber plantation with Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh, on Monday. The meeting, presided over by Minister Goyal, focused on various policies and programs under the Act East Policy initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, complemented by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s initiatives.

During the meeting, Borah highlighted the significant achievements of the Assam Industrial Policy, which has attracted investments exceeding Rs. 13,000 crores. He also mentioned the forthcoming establishment of a Semi-Conductor Plant by the Tata Group, valued at around Rs. 22,000 crores, as a testament to Sarma’s visionary leadership. Borah expressed his gratitude to Piyush Goyal for his continuous support and guidance in these endeavors.

The meeting saw the participation of several key figures, including Arunachal Pradesh’s Minister for Commerce and Industry, Nyato Dukam, Additional Secretary (Plantations) of the Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Assam’s Commissioner of Industries & Commerce, Oinam Sarankumar Singh, former Chairman of the Rubber Board and rubber sector expert, Dr. Sawar Dhanania, along with various officers and representatives of the board.
