Apple is an US giant company which will close FY23 with iPhone exports in excess of `37,000 crore, to be 236% higher than the last fiscal.  The total mobile exports from the country during the current fiscal is set to cross `80,000 crore, which will be higher than the government’s estimate of `75,000 crore. iPhones are manufactured in India by its three contract manufacturers – Foxconn, Pegatron (both located in Tamil Nadu) and Wistron (located in Karnataka) under  production-linked incentive (PLI) scheme announced by the government on 2020.

On Saturday, via video conferencing, the first energy pipeline between India and Bangladesh will be opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart, Sheikh Hasina.The pipeline, which is expected to cost Rs 377 crore, will be the first cross-border connection between Bangladesh and India.The amount spent on laying out the section on the Bangladeshi side, which was part of the total cost, was Rs 285 crore.
