BPCL announces drone-powered afforestation initiative in Bihar

Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has launched an ambitious reforestation project in Bihar, leveraging drone technology to deploy 100,000 seedballs across key forest regions. This significant initiative, known as the “Aranya” project, is a collaboration with the Department of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, Government of Bihar, and a prominent NGO partner.

The project targets 50 hectares in three strategic forest areas: UmgaPahadi in the Madanpur Forest of Aurangabad, Rajauli Forest Area in Nawada, and Brahmyoni, Dungeshwari, Pretshila, and Barabar Hills in Gaya. Dr. Prem Kumar, Hon’ble Minister of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, will inaugurate the event at the Umga Reserve Forest.

Mr. Raman Malik, Head of CSR at BPCL, emphasized the project’s impact, stating, “Planting trees significantly contributes to environmental sustainability and supports local communities. The Aranya project not only enhances green cover but also fosters a deep sense of environmental responsibility.”
