Defending champions Rangdajied United held Shillong Lajong to a goalless draw

Shillong Lajong and Rangdajied United played out an entertaining 0-0 draw in their Shillong Premier League (SPL) 2025 clash at SSA Stadium, First Ground, Polo, on Monday. Despite numerous chances on both sides, neither team managed to break the deadlock, leaving fans with a tense but thrilling contest.

The match was fast-paced, moving end to end, reflecting the competitive spirit of both clubs. Shillong Lajong, the reigning champions, were without key players, including SPL 2024 top scorer Deibormame Tongper, as well as prolific providers Yohaan Benjamin and Babysunday Marngar. Rangdajied United, meanwhile, were missing the scoring prowess of Owanijuh Pajuh, which affected their finishing in front of goal.

Lajong came close twice when shots from Firstborn Khongsit and Ricky Kharkongor hit the crossbar. Rangdajied also had scoring opportunities, with Manbhakupar Iawphniaw’s early free-kick sailing wide and a second-half shot blocked by Lajong goalkeeper Wanteilang Malngiang, who later denied a rebound attempt from Menangpyndap Khongjee.
