Dilma Rousseff, a former president of Brazil, will lead the BRICS Bank
Dilma Rousseff, a former president of Brazil’s government, was “unanimously” chosen on Friday to lead the New Development Bank (NDB), a global financial organisation founded by the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) nations.
The 75-year-old Rousseff succeeds her countryman Marcos Troyjo, according to the Shanghai-based bank.
According to a press release from the bank, “The Board of Governors of the NDB of the BRICS, (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), overwhelmingly elected Rousseff as the President of the Bank, effective immediately.”
