Durex The Birds and Bees Talk (TBBT) programme, led by Reckitt, has become a Health Partner at the Sikkim World AIDS Day celebration. The program, in line with WHO’s 2023 theme, ‘Let Communities Lead’, is collaborating with Sikkim State AIDs Control Society (SSACS) to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS among students and teachers. Implemented by Plan India in six Northeast, Delhi, and Gujarat states, the programme engages local communities and youth through various events and activities.
The SOFIYUM Music Festival in Gangtok featured Gangtok’s Lepcha Folk-western Fusion Band SOFIYUM and hip hop artist Sudarshan Rai, who shared lyrics promoting the Durex TBBT curriculum’s key pillars of consent, equity, inclusion, awareness, and protection for adolescents. Shri Nell Bahadur Chettri, Mayor, Gangtok Municipal Corporation, called Durex TBBT, “A positive and fruitful programme for the youths to dwell deeper into causes like HIV/ AIDS and substance abuse.”
A spectacular Pride Walk Fashion Show featured the widely popular Queenandro and the dynamic duo of Xorem and Gracy The community embraced artists who walked the ramp in solidarity with HIV AIDS patients and showcased TBBT curriculum books and materials for children, educating them on sexuality, life skills, and safer practices.
