Embracing PEACE: NMBA Vashi’s 45th Durga Puja celebration set to inspire

Navi Mumbai Bengali Association (NMBA) Vashi is excited to announce its 45th Durga Puja celebration, themed “PEACE,” taking place from October 9-13, 2024. Renowned as the largest Durga Puja event in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), this year’s festivities are designed to resonate deeply in a world often marked by discord. Ashim Dey, a member of NMBA, emphasizes the significance of this year’s theme in fostering unity and harmony within the community.

The beautifully adorned pandal, crafted from full white Sola wood, will serve as a serene backdrop for the celebrations. The choice of white symbolizes peace and tranquility, reinforcing the message that Goddess Durga embodies the ideals of harmony and non-violence while combating evil. An 18-foot idol of Goddess Durga, meticulously crafted by skilled artisans from West Bengal using biodegradable soil from the sacred Ganges, will take center stage, showcasing a commitment to both artistry and sustainability.

The event will unfold at the CIDCO Exhibition Centre in Vashi, a spacious 1.50 lakh square feet venue expected to welcome over 800,000 devotees. NMBA Vashi’s Durga Puja 2024 is set to be a vibrant celebration of culture and community, inviting all to partake in a shared journey toward peace and unity.
