The Ministry of External Affairs has recently revealed about the set up of a campus of IIT Madras in Tanzania’s Zanzibar. This initiative will not only strengthen the relationship between the two countries but it will also help to promote Indian education system at international level.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in the presence of External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Zanzibar’s President Hussein Ali Mwinyi.
The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 recommends that “high performing Indian universities will be encouraged to set up campuses in other countries”, said MEA.
