Flipkart and ITI Kalyani partnership to drive economic growth through e-commerce supply chain training

Flipkart has partnered with the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Kalyani, West Bengal, to enhance the region’s workforce through its Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA). This collaboration, formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), will establish a Center of Excellence (CoE) lab to train youth in supply chain operations, addressing the growing demand for skilled professionals in the e-commerce sector.

The CoE will offer free training in roles such as Picker, Putter, Packer, and Data Entry Operator, with certification awarded upon successful completion. Graduates will also gain 45 days of On-The-Job-Training (OJT) or Industry Exposure (IE) at Flipkart facilities. In 2024, SCOA trained 4,200 candidates, including 826 women, focusing on skill development and diversity.

This initiative holds particular significance for Durgapur, which is a key industrial hub in West Bengal. The training program will provide a skilled workforce to support the region’s growing e-commerce and logistics sectors. As Durgapur continues to develop as a logistics center, the availability of trained professionals will help local businesses streamline operations, improve supply chain efficiency, and drive economic growth.
