Flipkart Samarth celebrates 5 years with strategic upskilling partnership and market expansion

Flipkart, India’s leading e-commerce platform, commemorated the 5th anniversary of its Samarth program with a significant event highlighting its commitment to empowering artisans, weavers, SHGs, and rural entrepreneurs. The event, attended by over 250 industry leaders and dignitaries such as Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, showcased Flipkart’s dedication to enhancing India’s cultural and entrepreneurial landscape.

A pivotal moment of the celebration was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Flipkart’s Supply Chain Operations Academy (SCOA) and the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). This MoU, part of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 4.0, aims to upskill thousands of youths, providing them with essential training in the e-commerce and supply chain domains through a blend of classroom learning and practical industry experience.

The event also saw the launch of the ‘Samarth storefront’ on Flipkart’s app, designed to give artisans and MSMEs across India unprecedented market access.In Durgapur, Flipkart’s Samarth program is expected to greatly benefit local entrepreneurs by offering them an expanded digital platform to reach new customers. This initiative will support Durgapur’s small businesses in showcasing their products to a larger audience, driving economic growth and enhancing market visibility in the region.
