From Rs 10 printouts to Rs 4.3 lakh iPhone carts: Instamart’s 2025 data shows how India shopped fast and big

India’s quick-commerce market saw a sharp expansion in 2025 as consumers increasingly turned to Instamart for everything from daily essentials to luxury purchases. According to the platform’s annual analysis, How India Instamarted 2025, shopping behaviour ranged from a ₹10 printout ordered in Bengaluru to a record ₹4.3 lakh single cart in Hyderabad, dominated by iPhones.

The report highlights a strong rise in high-value and repeat purchases. Instamart’s top spender clocked more than ₹22 lakh during the year, buying smartphones, air fryers, gold coins and everyday groceries in multiple orders. Demand for essentials remained robust, with India consuming over four packets of milk per second, while paneer outsold cheese and butter continued to dominate breakfast carts. Non-grocery categories also surged, with gold orders rising over 400% on Dhanteras and gadgets seeing brisk demand across metros.

Festive and gifting-led consumption played a major role, with Valentine’s Day witnessing peak orders of 666 roses per minute. Health, wellness and protein products recorded strong growth, while Tier-II cities such as Rajkot and Ludhiana emerged as fast-growing markets.

Kolkata stood out as one of Instamart’s most active cities in 2025, with a power user placing 1,197 orders over the year. The city showed consistent demand for daily essentials alongside festive gifting and quick reorders, reflecting growing trust in quick commerce. This steady usage positions Kolkata as a key eastern market supporting Instamart’s long-term growth strategy.
