Gautam Adani meets with the Prime Minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina

Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Dhaka after the full load commencement of power supply to Bangladesh from the Group’s Ultra Super-Critical Thermal Power Plant in Godda, India. This marks the Adani Group’s entry into transnational power projects, where 100% of generated power is supplied to another nation.

The Godda Power Plant is a prime example of India-Bangladesh cooperation, providing uninterrupted, reliable electricity to replace costly liquid fuel-generated power in Bangladesh. The plant will contribute to economic growth and prosperity, generating electricity efficiently and with minimal environmental impact. Under a power purchase agreement with the Bangladesh Power Development Board, the plant will supply 1,496 MW.

 The plant operates with 100% flue gas desulphurization, selective catalytic reconverter, and zero water discharge, aligning with Indian environmental standards.  Adani Power Jharkhand Ltd completed a six-hour dependable capacity test for the Godda planton 12 July, evaluating the simultaneous functioning of the plant’s units under the power purchase agreement with Bangladesh.After the meeting, Mr Gautam Adani said in a tweet: “Honoured to have met Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina on full load commencement and handover of the 1600 MW Ultra Super-Critical Godda Power Plant.”
