HCG Cancer Centre Kolkata organizes an impactful awareness session at Premchand Bhawan

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, HCG Cancer Centre Kolkata organized a significant awareness session at Premchand Bhawan, attracting 248 ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers. The event, aimed at promoting early detection and preventive health practices, was inaugurated by Mrs. Reba Raha, Chairperson of Bhatpara Municipality, and Dr. Amarjeet Singh, COO of HCG Cancer Centre Kolkata.

The session included a comprehensive discussion led by Dr. Moumita Maity, Radiation Oncologist at the center, who emphasized the importance of self-examinations and regular check-ups. ASHA workers participated actively in these discussions, underscoring the value of empowering women with knowledge to enhance health outcomes. A flash mob, featuring dancers performing to Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous,” symbolized the collective fight against breast cancer, with placards reading “Beat It” as a call for proactive screenings.

In Kolkata, the event highlighted the growing focus on healthcare awareness in the region. Local communities, including ASHA workers, play a pivotal role in spreading health education, strengthening Kolkata’s efforts to combat breast cancer through grassroots initiatives. HCG Cancer Centre Kolkata’s commitment to these awareness programs reflects a broader trend in Kolkata towards improving preventive healthcare and supporting women’s health.
