HDFC Bank conducts Grameen Loan Mela in West Bengal, Burdwan

HDFC Bank, one of India’s leading banks, organized a ‘Grameen-loan Mela’ in Burdwan, West Bengal. Over 5,000 people attended, including small and marginal farmers, FPOs, agri-startups, small agri-entrepreneurs, transporters, shopkeepers, healthcare enterprises, and MSMEs from the Damodar-basin region. The mela gave an overview of its products and services and aims to reach out to 20,000+ people in the semi-urban and rural belt.

Agriculture finance, healthcare finance, financing for construction vehicles, financing for commercial equipment, and Dukandaar Dhamaka were among the goods and services offered. MSMEs are eligible for bank guarantees, term loans, LCs, and working capital. Rahul Shyam Shukla, Group Head of Commercial and Rural Banking of HDFC Bank inaugurated the event. As the event’s chief guest, Shri. Kamanasish, IPS, Superintendent of Police, Purba Burdwan, was present.

Speaking at the launch, Shri. Rahul Shyam Shukla, Group Head, Commercial and Rural Banking, HDFC Bank said, “The ‘Grameen-loan Mela’ initiative is envisioned to bring in financial inclusivity and support small and micro businesses, especially in the semi-urban and rural belts. This initiative is a step towards taking banking to those who need it and contributing to rural prosperity.”
