HDFC ERGO leverages technology to revolutionize crop insurance in Tripura for Kharif 2024

HDFC ERGO General Insurance has been authorized by the Tripura government to implement the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) for both loanee and non-loanee farmers across the state. The scheme is designed to safeguard farmers from financial losses due to various crop-related risks, including natural calamities and pests.

PMFBY offers comprehensive coverage for all stages of the crop cycle, from pre-sowing to post-harvest. To determine crop yield losses, the state government will conduct Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs) in designated areas. The scheme will be available for various crops in the districts of Dhalai, Gomati, Khowai, South Tripura, Sepahijala, West Tripura, Unakoti, and North Tripura during the Kharif 2024 season. Farmers who experience yield shortfalls as per the CCE results will be eligible for compensation.

HDFC ERGO is committed to providing reliable and accessible crop insurance solutions to Tripura farmers. Interested individuals can obtain insurance coverage through their respective banks, Common Service Centers (CSCs), or authorized HDFC ERGO agents. For specific details and eligibility criteria, farmers are encouraged to visit the Tripura Department of Agriculture’s website.
