Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) launched a National Road Safety Awareness Campaign in Nalbari, Assam, promoting safe riding habits. The two-day camp educated over 1800 college students and staff on safe riding practices, using age-appropriate learning programs to enhance awareness retention. Road safety is a global priority for Honda.
HMSI’s National Road Safety Awareness program offers a scientifically designed learning module, with skilled instructors providing theory sessions on road signs, driver duties, riding gear, posture, and safe riding etiquette. A virtual riding simulator was used to simulate over 100 possible dangers before actual riding. Kiken Yosoku Training (KYT) was given to enhance rider/driver sensitivity to danger and ensure safe driving behavior.
Existing riders tested and honed their riding skills through slow-riding activities and narrow planks. Honda also conducted daily educational activities like road safety games and quizzes to ensure young students learn about road safety.Speaking on HMSI’s commitment towards building a collision-free India, Mr. Vinay Dhingra – Senior Director, HR, Admin, IT & Corporate Affairs, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “We are committed to empowering and educating the next generation of riders about the crucial significance of safe road usage. To promote this mindset, HMSI has taken the initiative to launch an extensive nationwide road safety awareness campaign.”
