India building world’s highest road, tunnel, fighter jet base in Eastern Ladakh: BRO chief Lt Gen Rajeev Chaudhry

The world’s highest tunnel, motorable road and fighter aircraft base is being constructed in India’s eastern ladakh to provide more strength to the infrastructure for both military and civilian use.

Border Roads Organization chief Lt. General Rajeev Chaudhry confirmed that the world’s highest bi-lane tunnel known as Sela tunnel will be soon inaugurated by PM Modi, and it will be one of the biggest establishment in the defence sector.

The highest motorable road is built at Umling La Pass. The BRO has started a road connecting Likru , Mig-La and Phukche at a height of 19,400 ft. This construction of road will help the militaries to get deployed easily and quickly in emergency situations.
