On Thursday, managing director Kristalina Georgieva, International Monetary Fund (IMF) said India and China are expected to account for half of the global economic growth this year.

According to IMF Chief, the world economy is going down and it will continue going down if not taken any action against it.

The world economy has gone down due to the backdrop of the Covid-19 pandemic and the aftermath of the Russia-Ukraine war, adding that it is expected to grow at less than 3% in 2023.

“The period of slower economic activity will be prolonged, with the next five years witnessing less than 3% growth, our lowest medium-term growth forecast since 1990, and well below the average of 3.8% from the past two decades,” she said.
