Indigo to start flight operations from Noida Airport

IndiGo will be the first airline at Noida International Airport (NIA) which is slated to be launched by the end of next year. The two signed a memorandum of understanding on Friday “to develop air connectivity to UP and beyond.” The NIA is also in talks with both Indian and foreign airlines and they will work there as well.

NIA CEO Christoph Schnellmann said: “The partnership between NIA and IndiGo will not only help strengthen air connectivity but also ensure an exceptional customer experience for our customers alike.
by leveraging IndiGo’s extensive route network and expertise, we aim to provide our passengers with unparalleled connectivity and an exceptional travel experience. “

Pieter Elbers, CEO of IndiGo, said: “We are thrilled to announce our MoU with Noida International Airport to become a launch carrier at the upcoming airport. Our activities at NIA will provide seamless connectivity to the people of UP across our unparalleled network. We look forward to the opening of the new airport in 2024 and will continue to work with NIA management to explore innovative ways to provide an affordable, timely, and hassle-free travel experience across the 6E network.”.

The first phase of Noida International Airport will be operational by the end of 2024 with a runway and a terminal with the capacity to handle 1.2 crore passenger traffic annually. After the completion of the fourth phase, the airport will have the capacity to handle 7 crore passengers annually.
