Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy opens up about his ‘big regret’

N.R. Narayana Murthy, co-founder of Infosys recently revealed about his “big regret”. As per the reports of CNBCTV18 , Murthy said that he is regretting on not allowing his wife Sudha Murty entered the company despite her supportive help which hinted him to start the company with a seed capital of Rs 10,000 and asking him to keep an eye on export markets. He also said that Sudha Murthy was more qualified than all seven co-founders of Infosys.

Briefing the reasons for not asking his wife to join the company, Murthy said that he was holding on a concept that good corporate governance means not bringing one’s family into the company as those days it used to be the family rule and children of company owners used to run the businesses and it used to be violation of rules.

“I think what I was doing those days was wrong, I was wrongly idealistic and, in some way, I think I was influenced a lot by the environment of those days,” he was quoted as saying to CNBC-TV18. Though, he does not want his son Rohan Murty to have a role in Infosys. “I think he’s even stricter than I am in these ideas. He will never say that.”
