JSW MG Motor unveils Windsor Inspire Edition, sparks EV market momentum

JSW MG Motor India launched the limited-edition Windsor Inspire Edition, celebrating one year of its best-selling EV, the Windsor, which has already surpassed 40,000 units nationwide. The launch, attended by Union Minister of Road Transport & Highways ShriNitinGadkari, underscores growing investor and consumer confidence in India’s electric mobility sector.

The Inspire Edition is priced at ₹16.64 lakh (ex-showroom) under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, delivering a running cost of ₹3.9/km. It features a dual-tone Pearl White and Starry Black exterior, 18-inch all-black alloy wheels with rose gold cladding, and Sangria Red and Black leather interiors with 135-degree reclining aero lounge seats. Optional personalization includes a Skylight Infinity View roof and wireless illuminated sill plates. Only 300 units will be produced, with bookings opening immediately and deliveries starting October 15.

Local dealerships report a surge in inquiries and early bookings as consumers seek EVs that combine luxury, comfort, and sustainability. Analysts note that the BaaS pricing model is lowering adoption barriers, stimulating demand in reinforcing JSW MG Motor’s strategic penetration in emerging EV markets. Shri Gadkari emphasized the initiative as a step toward India’s green mobility goals, while JSW MG Motor’s Managing Director Anurag Mehrotra highlighted the edition as a symbol of innovation and progress in the country’s EV landscape.
