A group of demonstrators hoisting separatist Khalistani flags and yelling pro-Khalistani chants tore down the tricolour that was atop the Indian High Commission in London on Sunday night. Even though Scotland Yard claimed to be “informed” of an event nearby, no official announcement has yet been made. As this was going on, India lodged a strong protest with the British government regarding the security of its diplomatic presence and questioned the lack of adequate security at the location.
