Mahindra Truck and Bus Division (MTBD), a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group, will provide scholarships to the daughters of truck drivers on Drivers’ Day. Project Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyaan is dedicated to transforming the lives of girls by promoting their right to higher education.
Mahindra, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, has initiated a scholarship program for selected truck drivers. The initiative, initiated in 2014 with the Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyaan, has been conducted at 75+ transport hubs across India. The program has now benefited 8928 young girls, enabling them to pursue their aspirations. The initiative, which includes a Rs.10,000 scholarship and a certificate, is a significant milestone in Mahindra’s commitment to the truck driver community. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Jalaj Gupta, Business Head – Commercial Vehicles, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., said, “Mahindra Saarthi Abhiyaan has been warmly embraced by our drivers and partners, showcasing its effectiveness in enabling young girls to achieve their dreams.”
Mahindra Truck and Bus Leadership India plans to host a felicitation in Feb-Mar’24 at select locations, where 1100 scholarships will be awarded to Truck Drivers’ Daughters, with each girl selected receiving a direct bank transfer of INR10,000 and a certificate.
