Chief Minister N Biren Singh is set to depart for New Delhi on Thursday to attend the Chief Ministers’ meeting and the NITI Aayog session, starting July 26 in the national capital. Sources indicate that CM Biren will attempt to secure a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit.
However, the formal process for the appointment has yet to be initiated. Since the outbreak of violence in Manipur on May 3, 2023, CM Biren has not had the opportunity to meet with the Prime Minister.
Nevertheless, he has met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other Union ministers multiple times.The Chief Minister will be accompanied by state officials attending the NITI Aayog meeting.
