Manipur Police clarifies claims of Kuki Militants infiltration

Manipur Police has clarified that while inputs suggesting the infiltration of 900 trained Kuki militants from Myanmar have been verified through various channels, there is no concrete evidence on the ground to substantiate these claims.

In a press release jointly signed by the state’s Security Adviser and Director General of Police (DGP), authorities acknowledged community concerns over the reported infiltration. According to the release, the alleged militants were said to be planning attacks on Meitei communities on September 28. However, after verification from multiple sources, security forces have found no substantial proof to support the input.

“At present, there is no reason to believe these claims, but security forces remain on high alert to safeguard the lives and properties of citizens,” the statement emphasized. The police urged all communities to remain calm and not fall prey to rumours or unverified information, reassuring them of their safety.
