In a significant encounter on November 11, Manipur Police confirmed the neutralization of ten militants following an attack on a CRPF post in Jakuradhor and the nearby Borobekra Police Station in Jiribam district. The assault, which began around 3 p.m., led to an intense 45-minute gunfight between the militants and security forces.
During the exchange, CRPF Constable Sanjeev Kumar sustained a bullet injury and was swiftly transported to Silchar Medical College in Assam, where he is receiving treatment. A police statement detailed the aftermath: “A search operation uncovered the bodies of ten armed militants, along with a substantial cache of weapons, including AK-series rifles, SLRs, INSAS rifles, an RPG launcher, a pump-action gun, bulletproof helmets, and numerous magazines.”
In response, additional personnel from Assam Rifles, CRPF, and local police have been deployed to the area to conduct sweeps and eliminate any remaining threats. Authorities have registered a criminal case as investigations continue, with security forces prioritizing stability and safety for residents amid heightened tensions in the region.
