Manipur witnessed a fresh wave of violence as reports of gunfire emerged from the volatile regions bordering Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts. According to sources, over 20 live rounds were fired towards Phougakchao Ikhai near Kangvai, situated in the Bishnupur district. The gunfire is believed to have originated from the hillside, escalating tension in the area.
In a related incident, suspected Kuki militants reportedly fired several rounds towards Thinungei Maning and Ningthoukhong Maning, also within Bishnupur district.
No casualties have been reported so far. The situation remains tense, and security forces are on high alert to prevent further escalation.
