Manipur’s ‘Cloud 9’ among top 20 semi-finalists in Samsung’s ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ 2024

Team ‘Cloud 9’ from Imphal West, Manipur, has secured a spot in the top 20 semi-finalists of Samsung India’s prestigious CSR initiative, ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ 2024. This year’s edition features 51 students from across India, representing diverse regions including East Khasi Hills in Meghalaya and Bilaspur in Chhattisgarh.

The programme, focusing on ‘Community and Inclusion’ and ‘Environment and Sustainability,’ showcases innovative ideas from both school and youth tracks. Notably, 25% of youth track entries address water conservation and pollution, while 20% of school track ideas aim to bridge the digital literacy gap.“Samsung’s ‘Solve for Tomorrow’ initiative underscores our commitment to fostering technological solutions for societal challenges. We are excited about the diverse geographic representation and the innovative ideas presented,” said SP Chun, Corporate Vice President, Samsung Southwest Asia.

Semi-finalists will benefit from a unique Innovation Walk at Samsung’s offices and R&D centres, followed by a national pitch event at IIT Delhi. Teams receive grants for prototype development, with winning teams awarded substantial seed grants and Samsung products to further their educational pursuits.
