Elon Musk announced Sunday that his proposed “cage fight” against Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will be broadcast Live on X(updated name of Twitter) formerly known as Twitter.
“Zuck vs. Musk fight will be live-streamed on X. All proceeds will go to charity for veterans,” Musk wrote on Twitter, without sharing any further details.

However, Zuckerberg, writing on his newly launched micro-blogging platform Threads, says X is not a “reliable platform” for fundraising.

“Shouldn’t we use a more reliable platform that can actually raise money for charity?” Zuckerberg announced the fight by sharing a screenshot of Musk’s tweet in a thread.

On Sunday, Musk tweeted that he had been lifting weights all day in preparation for the fight. He said he doesn’t have time to work out at the gym, so he brings weights to work.

The two billionaire entrepreneurs, who previously only traded barbs from a distance, became direct competitors when Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta launched his Twitter-like Threads platform in early July.

The controversy began when Musk tweeted on June 20 that he would be “ready for a cage match” with Mark Zuckerberg, who has trained in jiujitsu.

A day later, Zuckerberg(39), asked Musk(51), to “send location” for a proposed fight. Musk answered “Vegas Octagon,” an arena in Las Vegas, United States where mixed martial arts (MMA) championship bouts are held.

The exchange ignited a social media firestorm, with many betting on the likely winner. While Musk has a clear size advantage, Zuckerberg’s fight experience makes him the clear favorite in a potential cage fight.

The fight has yet to be scheduled, but if it does happen, it is expected to take place in Las Vegas.
