Mars Wrigley India has brought back the bubble with a bang through its latest TVC for Boomer, featuring India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah. The new campaign, launched on June 24, revives the classic gum’s playful confidence for a new generation by spotlighting bubble-blowing as an act of swag, individuality, and effortless cool.
The commercial, set during a high-voltage cricket match, captures a moment where Bumrah faces jeers from the crowd. In response, he casually chews Boomer gum and blows a bubble — flipping the boos into roaring cheers: “BOOOOOO-MRAHH… BUMRAH!” The ad reclaims the gum’s legacy while connecting it to Gen-Z’s love for subtle self-expression.
Nikhil Rao, Chief Marketing Officer, Mars Wrigley India, said, “Boomer has always been at the forefront of India’s gum culture. This campaign is about reclaiming that legacy with quiet confidence.” Rahul Mathew, CCO of DDB Mudra Group, added, “Boomer is iconic — and Bumrah gives it a fresh attitude.” In Kolkata, the campaign is expected to resonate strongly with youth across colleges and cricket hubs. The city’s dynamic blend of nostalgia and contemporary cool makes it a perfect ground for Boomer’s revived swagger to bubble up into strong market engagement.
