Mayank Yadav made his solid come back in T20 after his injury

Mayank Yadav made a solid T20 debut on Sunday, as India beat Bangladesh by 7 wickets in Gwalior to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series. The Delhi pacer, who returned to action shortly after suffering an injury in the IPL, bowled with blistering pace and provided economical numbers to begin his international career. Yadav equalled Ajit Agarkar’s 18-year-old record, becoming only the second Indian bowler to open his T20 career with a maiden over.

His raw pace made him a standout bowler in the IPL earlier this year, and he followed the same approach in his debut for India, but acted wisely. Instead than focusing on pace, Yadav followed the appropriate line and length, which helped him take his first international wicket. Speaking to the media following India’s clinical win, Yadav admitted he was worried about his debut because he hadn’t played competitive cricket since being injured in the IPL. Yadav admitted that he was excited but also worried. He went on to say that this series signified his recovery from injury. He did not play competitive cricket before making his debut, which contributed to his anxiousness.
