Meghalaya CM assuring action on complaints regarding NH-6 repair work

If formal complaints are filed, Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma has promised tough measures against poor building. “We will definitely take action if there are any concerns or complaints that are brought to our attention in writing,” he told the media. He made these comments in response to a request for an impartial quality audit of the National Highway 6 (NH-6) rehabilitation work made by Voice of the People Party (VPP) Shillong MP Ricky AJ Syngkon.

Syngkon pointed out significant shortcomings in road construction standards in a letter sent on Tuesday to Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways. In response to the worries, Sangma stressed the value of public vigilance while acknowledging the challenge of keeping an eye on the many projects that are now under progress around the state. “Whether it’s a state government or the federal government, thousands of projects are being implemented all across the state.

Indeed, public support is necessary because we are not always able to monitor every building project that is underway. As a government, it is crucial that we take action as soon as we discover such grievances. And I can guarantee you that no matter who the individual is, or where a quality is not fulfilled, there will be a complaint. According to the Chief Minister, “I promise the people of the state that I will personally take action from the department and the government side when we receive a written complaint.”
