Modi To Disburse ₹20,500 cr Under PM-KISAN Scheme In Varanasi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi, tomorrow to launch and inaugurate development projects worth approximately ₹2,200 crore. During the visit, he will also address a public gathering. A major highlight will be the release of the 20th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme, under which over ₹20,500 crore will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of more than 9.7 crore farmers across the nation—pushing the scheme’s total disbursement beyond ₹3.90 lakh crore. To boost road connectivity in the region, PM Modi will lay foundation stones and inaugurate several key infrastructure works, including the widening of the Varanasi-Bhadohi and Chhitauni-Shool Tankeshwar roads, along with the Hardattpur Railway Overbridge. Strengthening the power sector, he will initiate projects under the Smart Distribution Project and underground electrical infrastructure worth ₹880 crore. Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 47 rural drinking water schemes under the Jal Jeevan Mission and announce the upgradation of 53 school buildings within the city. Security has been tightened for the visit.
