NVIDIA plans to train 50,000 Infosys employees to boost GenAI in enterprise

Infosys Ltd stock was trading nearly percent lower at Rs 1,481 in early trade on September 21, with the Indian IT services player extending losses for a third straight session after announcing a partnership with NVIDIA to develop generative AI tools for the business.

Infosys plans to set up an NVIDIA Center of Excellence where 50,000 employees will be trained and certified on the American chip giant’s AI technology, the company said in a September 20 press release.

NVIDIA’s AI enterprise ecosystem of models, tools, runtimes and GPU systems will be brought to Infosys’ AI-first offering Topaz as part of this alliance, it said.

“Infosys is transforming into an AI-first company to better deliver AI-based services to our clients globally. Our clients are also seeing complex AI use cases that can drive significant business value across their entire value chain,” co-founder and chairman Nandan Nilekani said.

Collaboration has expanded to digitization applications with an initial focus on developing solutions related to 3D workflows, digital twins, world simulation and more. Infosys and NVIDIA jointly develop AI-powered solutions in various domains including 5G technology, cyber security, and energy transition.

Earlier in September, NVIDIA announced partnerships with Reliance and the Tata Group. In collaboration with Jio, NVIDIA will provide comprehensive AI supercomputer technology, CPU and networking.

Together with the Tata Group, NVIDIA will help develop and process generative AI applications. It will help Tata Consultancy services with more than six lakh employees grow in AI.
