Opening of the Liberation War Gallery at the Indian Cultural Center in Dhaka

The Liberation War Gallery of 1971 was inaugurated at the Indian Cultural Centre of the Indian High Commission in Dhaka. Pranay Verma, the Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh, and Asaduzzaman Khan, the Bangladeshi Home Minister, were present for the opening of the Liberation War Gallery of 1971.

 The inaugural program was attended by freedom fighters, Bir Muktijodhas, and distinguished guests. The Gallery is a testament to the friendship between India and Bangladesh, featuring photographs and documents from the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971. It honors the memory of the millions who died during the war.

High Commissioner Pranay Verma highlighted the significance of the 1971 Liberation War for both countries, underlining the spirit of friendship and solidarity that guided India’s support for Bangladesh’s independence. The gallery will highlight the shared commitment to preserve and celebrate the spirit of 1971. Asaduzzaman Khan recalled the sacrifice of Indian soldiers and the support provided by the people of India to 10 million refugees during the freedom struggle. The program concluded with songs and a dance drama about the friendship between India and Bangladesh.
