Piyush Goyal, a union minister, charged the opposition on Tuesday with deliberately delaying Parliament with its “irresponsible” remarks and “unfounded” claims in an effort to mislead the nation amid growing support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership internationally.
Goyal and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi joined in accusing the Opposition of continually insulting Rajya Sabha Chairperson Jagdeep Dhankhar by refusing to even meet with him.
He said that the Congress and other parties did not show up to the meeting he called even on Tuesday. Yet, they were there when Speaker Om Birla convened the meeting.
