Manipur Police and security forces carried out two coordinated operations, resulting in the arrest of three individuals linked to militant groups and the seizure of weapons, ammunition, and vehicles.
In the first operation, an active cadre of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group) [KCP (PWG)] was apprehended in Imphal West. The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Tularanjan Ingudam Meitei, was taken into custody near Zomi Villa Gate in North AOC. Police reports suggest he was involved in extortion activities targeting civilians and local businesses.
During the arrest, the following items were seized:
One 9mm pistol with a magazine.
One mobile handset.
One two-wheeler without a registration number.
In a separate operation in Lamzang Village, Churachandpur District, security forces detained two individuals, Jangneu Haokip (33) and Lililn Haokip (42). The duo was found with a cache of arms and ammunition, including:
One 9mm Carbine Machine Gun 1A1 with a magazine.
One pistol with a magazine.
123 live rounds of ammunition.
One four-wheeler.
Two mobile handsets.
