Prime Minister Narendra Modi attends a high-level meeting on COVID

Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a high-level meeting on Wednesday and gave officials instructions to improve genome sequencing while also promoting COVID-appropriate behaviour in light of the country’s recent surge in COVID-19 and influenza infections. According to data updated on Wednesday by the Union Health Ministry, India has reported 1,134 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 7,026. Five fatalities brought the total to 5,30,813. According to the data updated at 8 am, Kerala recorded one death whereas Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, and Kerala each reported one death. In order to examine the COVID-19 and influenza situation in the nation in terms of readiness of the health infrastructure and logistics, status of the vaccine campaign, and other factors, Modi served as the meeting’s chair.
