The fourth G20 Education Working Group convened in Pune from June 20-21. India’s Chief Coordinator, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, and Secretary of Higher Education, Sanjay Murthy, attended the inaugural session. The meeting involved 85 delegates from G-20 member countries, invited countries, and OECD, UNESCO, and UNICEF organizations. Prior to the meeting, Foreign delegates visited heritage sites in Pune, including Shaniwarwada, Lal Mahal, and Nana Wada.
They learned about the childhood history of Chhatrapati Shivrai and the significance of Nana Wada. Around 150 foreign tourists from 50 countries participated in the visit, including students from various schools and the National Service Scheme. Foreign delegates were welcomed at Savitribai Phule Pune University, where a seminar on ‘Foundational Literacy and Numeracy’ in Blended Learning was organized.
The Education Ministers Meeting will take place in Pune on June 22. The first day of the meeting began with remarks by, Sanjay Murthy followed by Harsh Vardhan Shringla. Harsh Vardhan Shringla said, “The world is looking towards India as a promising solution to the problems arising at the global level. Today’s meeting would prove to be very helpful in deciding the future policy on this subject.”
