RGICL wins contract for Megha Health Insurance Scheme implementation in Meghalaya

Reliance General Insurance Co. Ltd. (RGICL) India’s leading general insurance company has been awarded the contract for the implementation of the Megha Health Insurance Scheme (MHIS) and the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY)-Phase 6 in the state of Meghalaya by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Meghalaya (the GoM).

RGICL won the contract through competitive bidding, securing the most competitive quote.The GoM has reviewed MHIS 6’s Health Benefits Package and implemented a revised scheme in convergence with PMJAY, offering ₹ 5,30,000 insurance cover for eligible beneficiaries on a family floater basis. Over 7 lakh families in Meghalaya will receive comprehensive health insurance covering hospitalization, outpatient care, diagnostic tests, and follow-up care.

The company will use digital capabilities and innovative solutions for seamless enrollment, claim settlement, and grievance redressal.
